adidas LDN Mural Commission
Creative Debuts had the incredible opportunity this month to commission a mural focusing on community and women, at the adidas London Flagship store.
We caught up with illustrator, visual artist and public speaker Rachael Presky to learn more about her and her inspirations behind her mural design.
Tell us a little about yourself, your work and how you would describe yourself as an artist?
I'm a Freelance Illustrator/Commercial Artist whose work can be seen on Murals, Beer Cans, in magazines and many more places!! I pride myself on giving people a voice and visibility, representing as many different people as possible through fun and engaging imagery. Given my sporty background, my recent work has focussed on promoting women in sport. I've been lucky to work with Adobe, now adidas, Vans, Klarna and many more clients. I absolutely love my job!
What was your main inspiration or motivation behind your designs for the mural at the adidas LDN flagship store?
It was the most wonderful brief because it focussed on exactly what I love creating and showcasing, women in sport, doing their thing. I love showing movement and this seemed like the perfect place to include different poses and different women. I also love the colour palette, which we worked on together so it would pop against the utilitarian background.
What advice would you give to aspiring creatives?
Share your work far and wide, people don't know you exist if you don't let them know! Also, keep creating what you believe in and try to get as much of yourself into your work as possible!
Do you have any exciting upcoming projects that you can share with us?
This is definitely my most exciting project recently but I've just sent some concepts to The Body Shop for a mural at one of their stores and the project may or may not go ahead - TBC!
